FAQs for Hauling & Transport Rentals
-
The required tow vehicle depends on the trailer's Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) and the weight of your cargo.
For our smaller Landscape Trailers, a 1/2-ton truck (e.g., F-150, Ram 1500) is usually sufficient.
For the heavier 14 ft. Dump Trailer or high-capacity Full Tilt Trailer, you will need a 3/4-ton truck (e.g., F-250, Ram 2500) or larger.
Crucial: All towing vehicles must be equipped with a properly installed electric brake controller and the correct hitch ball size (usually 2" or 2 5/16") to meet safety and legal requirements.
-
They serve different primary functions:
Dump Trailer (Texas Pride 14 ft.): Designed for bulk material handling. Use it for hauling loose items like soil, gravel, construction debris, or junk removal. Its hydraulic bed allows you to easily dump materials at the disposal site.
Full Tilt Trailer (Big Tex 16 ft.): Designed for equipment transport. Use it to safely move your mini excavators, skid steers, or scissor lifts. The tilt bed eliminates the need for heavy, separate ramps, making loading and securing equipment faster and safer.
-
Safety and maintenance are top priorities.
Overloading: You are strictly responsible for adhering to the trailer's Payload Capacity and GVWR. Overloading is a serious safety hazard and violates the rental agreement, potentially resulting in fines and charges for damage.
Damage: As stated in our Terms and Conditions, the customer assumes all responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to the rental equipment from the time of pickup until its return. We highly recommend verifying that your commercial insurance covers rental equipment.
